Serax | Bottlevase Square Large

It may look like a plastic bottle cut in half for a clever reuse around the house and indeed, the later is true. But the vase is in glass !

Designer : Ann van Hoey

Since establishing herself as a professional ceramicist five years ago, Ann Van Hoey has accumulated a number of international prizes and has achieved the kind of recognition that most artists only experience after many more years in this industry. The Belgian designer left her career of twenty years to commit herself fully to ceramics. Ann Van Hoey explored her passion for the craft through travel, a degree in ceramics and workshops taught by some of the finest contemporary clay artists of our time. Van Hoey took inspiration and knowledge from all of these areas to develop her work which, surprisingly, starts out as mathematical equations written down on paper. Her current collaboration with Serax, one of Europe’s top producers of porcelain and dinnerware, is inspired by geometrical shapes to create a collection which exudes elegance and purity. Van Hoey’s range of designs undoubtedly adds to the ultimate gastronomic experience.
