Fresh and colorful, the Bodil collection brings a tropical atmosphere into our interiors. Designed by the talented Amsterdam-based illustrator Bodil Jane, her drawings inspire this eponymous collection, hand-made with pastel pencils.
This Serving Tray is designed with a lively jungle print, combined with matching bowls, mugs, and plates. The combination of vegetation and animal kingdom in this jungle-themed illustration will bring a ray of sunshine to your meals.
Her father was an illustrator, her mother, a painter. Bodil Jane grew up in a creative environment. From her earliest age, she spent her time drawing, and in 2014 she graduated from the Willem de Kooning Academy, specializing in illustration.
The talented and young Dutch illustrator works mainly with pencils, watercolors, and ink. Her drawings and illustrations are often focused on female and accessible characters, surrounded by detailed ornaments. The artist has honed a lively, homely, and charming aesthetic.
Bodil is always looking for new combinations of colors and loves incorporating multiple layers of motifs and objects, finding her inspiration from busy places, as flea markets or botanical gardens. Several artists, such as Frida Kahlo and Henri Rousseau, have influenced her work.
In 2018, Bodil Jane made a collaboration with the Dutch homeware brand &klevering, and designed a jungle-themed collection of bamboo tableware and pouches.
Founded in 1992 in Amsterdam, the brand &klevering reinterprets everyday objects through original and colorful shapes. Over the years, &klevering has become the standard for home design with the design of unique items and a Nordic spirit filled with industrial and retro inspirations.
The brand has signed numerous collaborations with talented designers. It is this vision of design that seduced Kelly and Julien in the first place. 27 and &klevering share the same mission: giving the talents of this world a chance to express themselves.
