Made from traditional Japanese craftsmanship, every Hibi box has 8 incense sticks and a burning pad for safe burning. The scent will burn for about 10 minutes, but the aroma will linger.
Walking through Awaji Island, you will notice the scent of fragrant wood drifting softly. Is said to account for the production of as much as 70% of domestic incense and incense sticks. The techniques of incense production were brought from Sakai City in the Senshu area in 1850 at the end of the Edo period. It became firmly rooted here as Awaji Island is well-suited for the production of incense because of its “west wind”, a special feature of the area which is ideal for drying incense.
Available in three scents:
Citronella: A fragrance of a fresh citrus green note, also known for its insect-repellent effect. Ideal for revitalizing the air of your living space to refresh your mind.
Ylang Ylang: A slightly exotic fragrance with a rich and sensual sweetness. For the times when you want to relieve tension and feel a deep sense of satisfaction.
Lavender: An Elegant floral fragrance. For the times when you want to soothe your mind or in the moments before going to sleep.
Hibi means ‘day to day’, or daily, in Japanese and their mission was to create a new product from two Japanese crafts.
The brand’s starting point was to create an incense that could be lit in the same way we strike a match, since the Japanese incenses are generally more fragile. The creation process, which joined the incense of Awaji Island and the matches of Harima, lasted 3 years. In 2015 they finally created a solid and aromatic product full of strength and fragrance.
